Re-calculate DEL Date For Incoming and Outgoing Messages

Setup:

The Default Shipping Days for the following vendor is set. The Default Shipping Days will come into effect for incoming messages.

The Lead days for the following part is set. The Lead days will come into effect for outgoing messages.

Switch Set to Yes:

When set to Yes, when creating a Purchase Order, the DEL Date will re-calculate based on the Expected Date (for incoming messages).

Shipped From Origin Date + Default Shipping Days = Expected Date

When set to Yes, when creating a Purchase Order, the DEL Date will auto populate based on the following formula (for outgoing messages):

Current Date + Lead Days + Ship Days = DEL Date

Incoming Messages:

The following Purchase Order is created.

In the Purchase Order Detail, notice the DEL Date. This is the date the user is expecting to receive the part from the vendor.

From the Order AWB window, notice the Shipped From Origin Date. Upon saving this window, the Expected Date is auto populated with a date.

The DEL Date is updated from accordingly. Note that the new date is two days earlier than the Expected Date. This is because the vendor did not require the specified Default Shipping Days to ship the part to the customer. Instead, they only used part of the Default Shipping Days.

Outgoing Messages:

In the Purchase Order Detail, once the Condition Code is populated, the system will include the Lead Days in the calculation of the DEL Date. The Ship Days are defaulted to the Default Shipping Days specified in the Vendor Master. Notice the Current Date.. The DEL Date is correctly calculated based on the Current Date + Lead Days + Ship Days.

Switch Set to No:

When set to No, the Ship Days field is disabled in the Purchase Order Detail, General tab. When creating a Purchase Order, the DEL Date will be derived from the Lead Days and the date the Purchase Order was created as per original functionality.

Notice the Current Date. This is the date plus the Lead Days.
