P/N Inventory History Next Sequence Number

The system generates sequential numbers for Inventory Transactions to reflect the sequence of all system P/N transactions from the start number value set in the Config Number field at implementation. Each subsequent transaction incrementally increases this numerical value by one (1) for each transaction.

Note: The number created by this switch is not visible for the end-user. However, the number is associated with P/N Inventory Transaction history and is recorded throughout the system.

The following P/N Inventory Transaction History is presented. The Transaction History displays that a transaction which occurred on February 16, 2017 generated Transaction Number 20681423. A subsequent transaction on 9/18/2017 generated Transaction Number 20707103.

An image of the Config Number value was copied immediately before executing a transaction for a part. Notice the Config Number value displayed was 25067073.

A Manual Issue was then executed for Part Number NAS9314AD4-5. See below.

The Transaction History record was then expanded to view the transaction number. Notice Transaction Number 25067074 in the record below. Notice also, that this is one integer more than the previous Config Number (25067073).

Another image was taken of the Configuration Tab's Config Number field. Notice that the Transaction No. is sequential, and advanced to reflect the last transaction in the system; Transaction Number 25067074.

Note: This switch does not have Yes/No functionality.
