MEL Process

The MEL Master is used for the recording of MEL (Minimum Equipment Lists) for specific Aircraft Type and Series. MEL are entered into eMRO and must go through an authorization process before they can be used on a defect report. A general outline of the steps involved with MELs is as follows:

Set-up MEL Authorization Steps for MELs by Aircraft Type and Series.
Create a new MEL for an Aircraft Type and Series.
Add Items to the MEL.
Assign a Revision Number to the MEL (The MEL will now contain an Open Revision).
Release the MEL (that contains an Open Revision) to the Authorization Queue via the the MEL Authorization Management option.
Authorize the MEL via the MEL Authorization Explorer.

The MEL process is designed to allow users to visualize the entire procedure for creating an MEL.
