Restrict E/Cs to Specific Repair Order Vendors

Switch Set to Yes:

When set to Yes, during the Repair Order creation process when entering a P/N with associated E/Cs that have a vendor restriction, the E/Cs will not display in the R/O if the assigned vendor is not listed as the Repair Order vendor for that P/N.

The following Part Number has three repair capable vendors.

The P/N EC has no vendor restrictions. This will allow any vendor specified on a Repair Order to repair the part.

However, the following P/N EC has two vendor restrictions. This will restrict the part to ONLY be repaired by the vendors listed in the Vendor Restriction tab of the E/C.

A Repair Order was created with a vendor that is assigned as repair capable for the following P/N; however, this vendor was not listed in the Vendor Restriction tab for the associated P/N E/Cs.

In the detail of the Control - P/N E/C window, notice the P/N that is displayed. Recall that this P/N E/C had no vendor restrictions at the E/C level. All P/N E/Cs with vendor restrictions will not display in the window unless the assigned vendor coincides with the restricted vendors assigned to the P/N E/C.

Switch Set to No:

When set to No, during the Repair Order creation process when entering a P/N with associated E/Cs that have a vendor restriction, the E/Cs will display in the R/O even if the assigned vendor is not listed as the Repair Order vendor for that P/N.

Note: When this switch is set to No, the New and Delete buttons will not appear in the Engineering Control, Vendor Restriction tab.

The following Part Number has three repair capable vendors.

The following P/N E/C has no vendor restrictions.

However, another P/N EC has two vendor restriction. This will restrict the part to ONLY be repaired by the vendors listed in the Vendor Restriction tab of the E/C.

A Repair Order was created with a vendor that is assigned as repair capable for the initial part number; however, this vendor was not listed in the Vendor Restriction tab for the associated P/N E/Cs.

In the detail of the Control - P/N E/C window, the P/N E/Cs display disregarding the assigned vendor restrictions.
