Deferred Defect Convert Reported/Deferred day to Local Time Zone

The MELDEFLOC Switch allows Date and Time to be entered in Zulu Time and converts the MEL Deferred Defect date in the Planning Query to Local Time using the Local Time Zone entered in the SYSLOCZONE Switch.

In the example below, the SYSLOCZONE (Main Station Location Time Zone) is configured to US/EASTERN TIME (GMT -5:00)

When MELDEFLOC is set to Yes, the System assumes that the Date & Time are entered in Zulu Time and converts them to Local Time.

Go to Technical Records/Update/Defect Reports and create a new Defect Report. In the example below, the defect was reported on March 24, 2016 at 00:30.

Note: The system assumes that the date time was entered in Zulu time and converts it to Local Time; (03/23/2016, 19:30).

Enter Defer Category, Date and Time and select MEL/CDL Category. In the example below, Defect was deferred on March 24th, 2016 at 00:45 GMT which is March 23, 2016 19:45 US/Eastern Time. The MEL/CDL number selected scheduled a Defer due date of 10 days from the Deferred Date. Click on Save to see Due Date.

Due Date is displayed for April 2nd, 2016; 10 days from the Local Deferred Date of March 23.

Go to Planning/Query/A/C Planning Query. Select Defect, Detail view and A/C Defect Report was created for. Select the Find button.

Find your Defect Report by A/C or Defect Number. Due Date displayed matches the one in the Defect Report.

When MELDEFLOC is set to No, the System assumes that the Date & Time are entered in Local Time as per SYSLOCZONE Switch.

In the example below, a defect report was created using same A/C and reported Defect Date/time as scenario above.

Defer report is filled out using same Defer Date/time as scenario above. However, Due Date displayed is April 3rd, 2016. The system added 10 days to the Defer Date. In this case, Date/time entered reflect Local time as per SYSLOCZONE Switch.

Planning/Query/A/C Planning Query; The Planning query results for same defect report show same Due Date.
