GRAVELCONTROL - Gravel Ratio applied for Aircraft Landing on an Unpaved RunwayGravel Ratio applied for Aircraft Landing on an Unpaved Runway Affected Window: w_location_master_eu
Switch Set to Yes: When set to Yes, P/N Controls for installed parts can be impacted by a configurable cycles ratio that takes into account landings in a Location that has an Unpaved Runway. The following fields become available and must be configured when set to yes: the Unpaved Runway checkbox in the Location Master, General tab and the Gravel Control checkbox and Gravel Ratio field in the P/N Control window. The Unpaved Runway checkbox of the Location Master, General tab must be selected for any Location that contains an unpaved runway. Gravel Ratios will only be applied to these Locations. The gravel ratios are applied through P/N Controls. Each P/N Control must be registered for the specific Aircraft that will be landing on an unpaved runway. From the P/N Control window, the Gravel Control checkbox must be selected and the Gravel Ratio field must be populated. This ratio will be used to multiply against the cycles flown by the specific Aircraft with the installed part's P/N Control in an unpaved runway location. The ratio will be applied to the part's Actual Cycles. Note: The P/N Control does not have to be associated to an Aircraft. A P/N Control with a Gravel Ratio can be applied and tracked on any Aircraft. Once all of the setup has been configured, the gravel ratios will be applied to through A/C Actual Flights. The following two flights were created for the above aircraft that has the part and its gravel controlled P/N Control installed. Both of the flights landed in a Location with an unpaved runway. Notice that before the flights are closed, the aircraft with the installed part contains a particular amount of Actual Cycles. All open flights and their times are then closed. Instead of the Actual Cycles being updated, they were updated due to the Gravel Ratio. This takes place because the cycles are multiplied by the Gravel Ratio, and then added to the Actual Cycles. If flights are created for the same aircraft but they do not land in a Location with an unpaved runway, the Actual Cycles will not be affected by the Gravel Ratio. Notice the following two flights were created for the same aircraft but a different Location. Notice the current Actual Cycles. Once the open flight times are closed, the Actual Cycles are updated by accordingly.
Switch Set to No: When set to No, the gravel control functionality cannot be applied. Notice that the Unpaved Runway checkbox is not available in the Location Master. Neither the Gravel Control checkbox nor the Gravel Ratio field are available in the P/N Control window. Because these fields are not available, the gravel control functionality is not available. Notice that the following two flights are created for the above aircraft and Location. Notice the Actual Cycles before the flights are closed. The open flight times are then closed. The Actual Cycles for the P/N Control of the installed part are updated accordingly. The Gravel Ratio was not applied. |
