The following information/options are available in this window:
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Copy radio button

Select this radio button to copy the 'From E/C' to a new E/C in the system. When Copy is chosen, if E/C authorization is “On” (via System Administration/Explorer/System Transaction Configuration), the Authorization Status of the copy will be set to 'Pending'. The user will be required to enter new revision information in the New Revision field.

Note: The complete E/C structure will be copied, including part number effectivity, warranty, etc.). When copying an E/C, child E/Cs will not be copied as the copy is a creation of a new E/C which would have different requirements from the original, therefore child E/Cs will not be copied.

Rename radio button

If selected, the record will be renamed, not copied. This option deletes the 'From' record and replaces it with the new 'To' record.

From E/C

The original E/C being renamed or copied from.

Note: If the From E/C has a pending revision, the revision number and current status will carry over to the renamed E/C.

To E/C

The E/C being copied or renamed to.

Note: This is useful when most information on the 'From E/C' is needed on the 'To E/C'. Once you have created the copy, adjustments can be made on the 'To E/C' to make the E/C accurate.

Company

The name of the airline company for which the E/C will be utilized. The Company used to auto generate the E/C reference. When this field is populated, only those aircraft with the same G/L Company via the A/C Master, Other 1 tab can be made effective to the E/C. When the 'ALL' option is selected the Company field will not auto generate the E/C reference. The E/C reference will auto generate from the Sub E/C field.

Note: For more information, refer to the Multi Company Functionality.

Control

The Control (A/C, P/N, A/C Type, or ALL) used to auto generate the E/C reference. This field is used for naming purposes only. When the 'ALL' option is selected the E/C Control field will not auto generate the E/C reference. The E/C reference will auto generate from the Sub E/C field.

Sub

The Sub E/C used to auto generate the E/C reference. This is a free text field used for naming purposes only.

Effective Date

The Effective Date of the Copied E/C. This field only appears when the Copy radio button is selected.

Hrs/Min

The Effective Date Hours and Minutes of the Copied E/C. This field only appears when the Copy radio button is selected.

Category

The category of the E/C (e.g., AD, SB, CHECK).

Sub Category

A Sub Category can be used to further define the E/C Category, if applicable. For example, users may want to classify their ADs for Engines, APUs, and Landing Gear separately. The Sub Category System Transaction Code is set up via Settings/ Explorer/ System Transaction Code/ Engineering.

Note: This field only appears when the Auto SEQ/ E/C checkbox is selected in the specified E/C Category Transaction Code. For additional information refer to the E/C Category Transaction Code via the Engineering Transaction Code Manual.

Chapter

The ATA Chapter. Please refer to the ATA Specifications section of the Settings manual for more information.

Note: This field only appears when the Auto SEQ/ E/C checkbox is selected in the specified E/C Category Transaction Code. For additional information refer to the E/C Category Transaction Code via the Engineering Transaction Code Manual.

Copy Effectivity checkbox

Select this checkbox to have the Effectivity copied from one E/C to the other. This field only appears when the Copy radio button is selected.

Note: The effectivity of the From E/C will only transfer to the To E/C if they share the same company(s).

Copy TC Link checkbox

Select this checkbox to have the TC Link copied from one E/C to the other. This field only appears when the Copy radio button is selected.

Continuation checkbox

Select this checkbox to copy the compliance of the E/C to the new E/C and to add a Called-On schedule from the E/C to the new E/C.

Note: This only copies the information from the Scheduled Control tab of the Engineering Control, not the Schedule Controlled By tab.

Note: The Continuation checkbox is only displayed when the Copy Effectivity checkbox is selected. Also, when the Continuation checkbox is selected, the Plan E/C checkbox in the schedule of the E/C that the information is being copied from will be deselected.

Copy W/O E/C Notifications checkbox

When selected, notifications added via the Other tab of the E/C being copied will be transferred to the new E/C. For more information refer to the Engineering Control, Other Tab via the Engineering - E/C Training Manual.
