Shop W/O
The Shop Work Order allows the assembly of work packs to carry out work on the components. Shop Work Orders can also be for Third Party work where the operator's company is carrying out work for an outside company and charging them.
The Shop Work Order contains several elements. These elements will be used upon saving the Shop Work Order to provide financial analysis and also to update the technical information for the aircraft or component. The following elements are available:
Engineering Controls - Shop E/Cs, P/N E/Cs, or P/N Controls (TSO, LL, TSR).
Task Cards - Which can be copied into the Shop Work Order as a result of adding a PN E/C, or added individually as required.
Shop Task Cards - (Which can be copied into the Shop Order as a result of adding the Shop EC).
Non-Routine Cards - (Which can be created while work is performed and further inspections are required in the Shops).
Costs - can be added to the Shop Work Order in the form of materials used and additional work costs booked to the Shop Work Order (such as repair and exchange costs, or service orders).
The typical life cycle of a Work Order goes through 6 status’:
_____________________________________________________________________________________
- GENERATION – the W/O is being created and tasks are being attached.
- PRE/AUTH - the W/O has been created and pending authorization. (This status is optional and controlled by switch WOATHREL).
- OPEN – the W/O is authorized and available for users to action tasks and issue parts.
- COMPLETED – once all Task Cards attached to the Shop W/O are actioned (closed, deferred, canceled) the Shop W/O status automatically changes from Open to Completed.
- POSTCOMPLT (Post Completed) - compliance records are written for E/Cs, P/N E/Cs, and P/N Controls, their repeat schedules reset, and unused material can be returned to stock to credit the Shop W/O.
- CLOSED – the Shop W/O is finalized and the financials are closed. Unused material cannot be returned to stock to credit the Shop W/O.
