Use Main P/N for Fixed Asset

Switch Set to Yes:

When set to Yes, the system will create Fixed Asset records using the main P/N as the Fixed Asset P/N instead of the Interchangeable P/N.

Additionally, if the user swaps an Interchangeable into a main, all of the Fixed Asset records for the initial main P/N will be changed into the new main P/N.

The settings of G/L switch GLFIFO and the inventory costing methods configured in the system should help determine the setting of switch FAMAIN.

• If GLFIFO is set to 'FIFO' and Average Cost is used throughout the system, then switch FAMAIN should be set to Yes.
• If GLFIFO is set to 'FIFO' and Actual Cost is used throughout the system, then switch FAMAIN should be set to No.
• If GLFIFO is set to 'ACTUAL', then switch FAMAIN should be set to No.
