Select the Defect
The following information/options are available in this window: Defect Type The type of defect found on the aircraft (for example, Pilot Report, MX Report). For additional information, refer to the Defect Type Transaction Code, via the Technical Records Transaction Code Manual. Defect The defect number (or log book number). The Defect Number is typically the same number of the A/C log page. Item The defect log item number. A/C The individual aircraft tail number. Chapter The ATA Chapter classification associated to the Defect Report. The chapters which appear for selection are those ATA Chapters which are flagged for Defect in the ATA Master. This Chapter/Section must have Alert levels set up in order for Recurrent Items to be created via the Reliability module. Section The specific Section of the ATA Chapter associated to the Defect Report. The Sections which appear for selection are those ATA Chapters which are flagged for Defect in the ATA Master. This Chapter/Section must have Alert levels set up in order for Recurrent Items to be created via the Reliability module. Paragraph The ATA Chapter/Paragraph classification of the Defect. ASC The Aircraft System Code. Flight The inbound flight number associated with the Defect Report. Gate The gate information for the flight. Reference Sequence Number The reference sequence number of this Defect. CADOR Civil Aviation Discrepancy Occurrence Report. This is a number that is generated by Transport Canada and assigned to track IRs (Incident Reports) and SDRs (Service Difficulty Reports) that are reported. Corrosion/Damage & Repair This button allows the user to view the Corrosion Damage and Repair window. This window deals with the aircraft's Corrosion/Damage & Repair which is part of the maintenance program, especially in cases of aging aircraft. Status The current Status of the Defect Report log item. Delay Select the Delay IFSD The Engine In-Flight Shut Down code (i.e. Foreign Object Debris, Lightning Strike). These codes can be set up via the Technical Records Transaction Codes. Go to Settings/ Explorer/ System Transaction Code/ Technical Records. MIS The Mechanical Interruption Summary related to this Defect. SDR The Service Difficulty Report related to this Defect. For additional information, refer to the SDR Creation Button via Defect Report Detail Buttons. Position The aircraft position of the item. ASR radio button An Air Safety Report system notification will be generated and sent out. Warranty checkbox Select this checkbox if the aircraft is associated with a warranty condition. This is informational only. Damage checkbox Select this checkbox if the aircraft is associated with a damaged condition. This is informational only. Phase The Phase of the flight on which the Defect occurred. Defect Category The Defect Report's Category Code. Reported By The user reporting the Defect. Reported Date The Date the Defect was reported on. Reported Time The reported time of the Defect. Station The Station where the Defect was reported. Authorization Defect requires further authorization. Internal Capability checkbox This checkbox indicates hat the work can be carried out internally as opposed to having a third party maintenance organization carry it out. This field is informational only. Defect Report P/N S/N Select this button to enter the Part Number/ Serial Number of the Component which was the root cause of the Defect. For additional information, refer to the Defect on P/N Button, via the Defect Report Detail, General tab of the Technical Records Training Manual. CI radio button Select this radio button to determine if the Defect Report is for a critical task. CDCCL radio button Select this radio button to determine if the Defect Report is for an aircraft with a critical design configuration control limitation. Defect Description The description of the defect which describes the problem found or notes the service being performed. FRM Fault Reporting Manual fields can be used to enter appropriate information (for reference) if required. Defect History The Defect History RII Yes/No radio buttons Select Yes if this Defect will be a Required Inspection Item. When selected, the RII By field will appear so that the inspecting employee can be selected. Estimated TAT The estimated turn around time. Ground Time Required The time required to complete the work for turnaround time estimates. The time format is user defined and can be minutes, hours or days. This field is informational. Paper Copy Required checkbox Select this checkbox to inform users and auditors that information related to this Defect Report has been printed and must be processed. This checkbox is selected by default. Reliability checkbox This checkbox helps trigger the Defect Report Reliability process. The checkbox must be selected in order for Recurrent Alert Items to be created when the Defect Report's Chapter/Section reaches a predefined alert schedule. Dispatch System Control Number This number is generated by the system and represents that the defect has been sent to SABRE for those customers with this interface. Task Card Template The Task Card Template reference to the Task Card from which the Non-Routine items will be created when the Defect is attached to the Work Order. Task Card Template The Task Card Template Recurrent Alert The number of recurrent alerts that have occurred and is associated with this Defect Report. Seat Number The passenger seat number on the aircraft. Seat Letter The passenger seat letter on the aircraft. Seat Severity The Seat Severity Code used to indicate the level of severity (i.e damage) of the seat.
