Engineering Authorization ProcessThe Engineering Authorization Management option allows users to view and modify the E/C (if required) and release the E/C so that it can be sent to the E/C Authorization Queue (Engineering/Explorer/Engineering Authorization). Please refer to the Engineering Control Authorization section for additional information regarding the Engineering Authorization Explorer. For the Engineering Authorization process to be utilized, the ECAUTH (Engineering Authorization) configuration switch must be set to Yes. When set to Yes, all E/Cs will require Authorization. If an Authorized E/C is copied, the copy will go by default to the Engineering Authorization Management queue to be Released To Authorization. When the switch is set to No, upon creating an E/C, it will automatically be Authorized, but the status of that E/C must be manually changed to Open and any copy thereafter will be in 'Open' status. For more information, refer to Switch Once an E/C has been created and that E/C is pending Authorization, the E/C will appear in the Engineering Authorization Management queue awaiting modification and then release to Authorization. Many of the buttons that appear with the E/C while it awaits Release are the same as when the E/C was created. Please refer to the Engineering Control buttons section for additional information regarding the functionality of those buttons, if required. The buttons that are unique to the Engineering Authorization Management option are described in this section. The user may also allows E/Cs to be updated only upon E/C Revision.
