Repairable P/Ns - Financial Behavior, via P/N Category

From a financial aspect, the P/N Transaction radio buttons play a critical role when telling the system how to treat a part at receiving.

Repairable P/N Categories have similar characteristics to both consumable and serialized P/N Transactions, however there are no serial number entries when a repairable P/N is received into the system.

The following is an example of the financial behavior of a repairable part number.

The following Repairable P/N has been received. Note that there is no serial number associated the to part or the transaction.

The system will automatically generate a Fixed Asset Record and generate a reference serial number for each Repairable P/N received.

The Reference Serial Number is a combination of the GRN and the number of items received.

Note: The auto generated Repairable Reference Serial Number will server no purpose in the Inventory Transaction window as repairable(s) are treated like consumable in the Inventory Transaction window and the quantities are grouped together until they are distributed.
