Fixed Asset Registry
Fixed Assets are inventory items that are subject to depreciation. These inventory items are P/N Categories which are serialized or repairable. The Fixed Asset Registry shows the detailed information for each inventory item that has been set up as a Fixed asset. This option is used to manually add or edit Fixed Asset records for items within the system. The serial numbers of the parts are held on file and associated with the parts in the registry. This does not necessarily reflect the condition or location of the part.
- Switch F/A (Fixed Asset Information) must be set to Yes to create fixed asset registries. It is recommended that this switch is set to Yes. If the switch is set to No, fixed assets will not be generated. Fixed Assets will only be generated for those PN Categories with PN Transaction equal to Serialized or Repairable, when the part is brought into inventory via a Purchase Order or PN Initial Load with the Owner field null. The Config Date field is critical and should not be changed unless properly authorized to do so. The Config Date field is responsible for the date that appears in the Fixed Asset Depreciation (e.g. depreciation commences with the date specified in the Config Date field).
The following tabs and buttons are available:
Note: The Fixed Asset record may be deleted using the Delete button; this button is not security access-controlled. When a Fixed Asset record is deleted from the Registry, its impact upon inventory is that the part is still existent, however, its fixed asset value is not. So, it is usually better to scrap the part, which will then automatically remove the Fixed Asset Registry record (containing both the part and its value).
