Task Card Authorization Process
Users can view and change the status of all Task Cards by going to Engineering/Explorer/Task Card Authorization Explorer. The Task Card Authorization process is similar to the E/C Authorization process. However, the Task Card Authorization Process is simplified and does not include: Parallel Step Authorization, Parent/Child Relationships, or Authorization at the Employee Division/Section level. Please refer to the E/C Authorization section of this manual for additional related information.
Task Cards will only appear in the Authorization queue if they have been 'Released' for authorization. The Task Card Authorization Management option is used to Release the Task Cards to authorization. Please refer to the Task Card Authorization Management section for information regarding the Release procedure.
The Task Card Authorization Explorer option functions the same as the Engineering Authorization Explorer option, except that the Task Card Authorization Explorer is used for authorizing new or revised Task Cards.
For the Task Card Authorization Process to be utilized, the steps must be set up by Task Card category and Switch REVAUTH (Task Card Authorization Revision) must be set to Yes. When set to Yes, all newly created, revised, and copied Task Cards will be automatically sent to the Task Card Authorization Management queue to await Release To Authorization. When the switch is set to No, upon creating a Task Card, it will automatically be Authorized, but the status of that Task Card must be manually changed to 'Open' and any copy thereafter will have the open status.
Depending on the configuration of Switch TCVIAREV, the Task Cards may be able to be edited upon selecting into the queried record. If doing so, the following tabs and buttons are available:
To allow the creator of the Task Card to authorize some or all of the steps, set Switch TCSMPER (Task Card Allow Authorization By The Same Person Who Issued It) to Yes.
