Part Number Engineering Control Actuals Calculations

Part Number Engineering Control (P/N E/C) Actuals calculations are based on different scenarios as the Actuals are not coming from any particular P/N Control for the part. The Created Date, Effective Date and Install Date combinations explicitly determine what the P/N E/C's Actuals will reflect in the planning forecast window. This becomes especially important with newly created retroactive P/N E/Cs. The following topics will cover possible scenarios and demonstrate the results:

  • Scenario 1: P/N E/C Created prior to Serial Number (S/N) being brought into the system.
  • Scenario 2: P/N E/C created while the P/N S/N is currently installed on an Aircraft.
  • Scenario 3: P/N E/C created after the P/N S/N is Installed/Removed multiple times from various Aircraft but its Effectivity predates the P/N being Installed/Removed..

Note: Planning Switch PN_EC_INSTDAYS determines how accrued days are calculated for E/Cs tracking a Calendar Days schedules.
