P/N E/C Actuals Calculation: Scenario 2

When a Part Number Serial Number (P/N S/N) installation date precedes the Part Number Engineering Control (P/N E/C) Effective Date, the P/N E/C Actuals will begin accumulating against flights taking place after the P/N E/C Effective Date not from the P/N installation date.

Note: When switch AUTOECPNACTUAL is set to Yes, the system will automatically update the Actual Hours and Cycles on all P/N S/Ns that are effective to a newly created/added P/N E/C. When set to No, the system will not automatically update the Actual Hours and Cycles on P/N S/Ns that are effective to a newly created/added P/N E/C.

For example, a P/N E/C is created with a retroactive Effective Date, preceding the P/N S/N installation date.

Notice the P/N S/N Install Date.

scenario2-1

Note: For more information regarding installing and removing parts refer to the A/C P/N Transaction via the Technical Records Training Manual.

Notice that the P/N E/C Effective Date takes place after the P/N S/N Install Date.

scenario2-2

While the P/N S/N is installed, via the Inventory Detail, A/C tab, notice that the A/C installed times reflect the amount of time accumulated since the P/N S/N was installed.

scenario2-3

From the A/C Logs Print or the A/C Flight Audit Print, the flight log breakdown shows the accumulated time the P/N S/N has been installed on the aircraft, between the installed date and the current date. Notice how the A/C total times below reflect the A/C installed times above.

scenario2-3.1

However, the P/N S/N installed time does not correspond to the P/N E/C Actuals. From the Inventory Detail, E/C tab or the Engineering Effectivity Override window, the Actuals accrued reflect the total times accumulated from the Effective Date of the P/N E/C, not the P/N S/N installed date.

Note: APU Readings will only accumulate actuals from the date of P/N E/C Effectivity creation. Any historical readings will need to be manually added to the P/N Effectivity Actuals Override.

scenario2-5

From the A/C Logs Print or the A/C Flight Audit Print, the flight log breakdown shows the aircraft that the P/N S/N was installed onto between the P/N E/C Effective Date and the current date. Notice how the A/C total times below reflect the P/N E/C Actuals above.
