E/C To Be Activated, via Engineering Control, Schedule Controlled By Tab

The E/C To Be Activated control is used where upon compliance to the parent E/C the child E/C is activated.

Note: An aircraft E/C cannot activate a P/N E/C.

Note: When the parent E/C is complied with and the child E/C is activated, the child E/C's effective date (for the activated aircraft or P/N S/N) is determined by the setting of Switch ECNEWUPDATE and the effective date populated in the child E/C's Schedule tab. For more information, refer to Switch ECNEWUPDATE via the Engineering Control Training Manual.

Note: This control may be utilized multiple times to set up an unlimited number of parent/child E/C relationships.

E/C To Be Activated example:

Using the above parent/child E/C relationship, the child E/C's effective date is null and Switch ECNEWUPDATE is set No (when set to No, when a child E/C is activated from a parent E/C and the effective date under the Schedule tab of the child E/C is null, the parent E/C's compliance date with cascade to the child E/C's effective date).

The child E/C is in status pending.

EC To Be Activated Effective Date

The parent E/C is complied with. Note the compliance reset date.

The child E/C status has changed to open and its effective date has inherited the parent E/C's reset date.
