Defect Report, General Tab

The Defect Report, General tab is used to query for Defect Reports based on the following search criteria. Enter any of the below search criteria to query for a desired Defect Report and select the Find button.

 Query: 

The following information/options are available in this window:

Status

The current Status of the log.

All - Select the 'All' status to query for all logs.

Open - Select the 'Open' status to query for all logs in 'Open' status.

Closed - Select the 'Closed' status to query for all logs in 'Closed' status.

Defect Type

The type of defect found on the aircraft (for example, Pilot Report, MX Report). For additional information, refer to the Defect Type Transaction Code, via the Technical Records Transaction Code Manual.

Defect

The defect number (or log book number).

From A/C - To A/C

Enter the aircraft or aircraft range.

Chapter / Section / Paragraph

The ATA chapter/section/paragraph, as applicable.

ASC

The Aircraft System Code.

Flight

The flight reference number/information.

Reportable drop down

Select Yes, No, or All to filter for reportable defects. For additional information, refer to Delay System Transaction code via Technical Records Transaction Code manual.

Delay

The Delay Code (i.e. Equipment Failure, Scheduled Ground Time). For additional information, refer to the Delay Transaction Code, via the Technical Records Transaction Code Manual.

I.F.S.D.

The Engine In-Flight Shut Down code (i.e. Foreign Object Debris, Lightning Strike). These codes can be set up via the Technical Records Transaction Codes. Go to Settings/ Explorer/ System Transaction Code/ Technical Records.

Cancellation

The flight cancellation code if applicable (i.e. Maintenance Repairs, Ground Servicing). These codes can be set up via the Technical Records Transaction Codes. Go to Settings/ Explorer/ System Transaction Code/ Technical Records.

Station

The station where the defect was worked on.

MIS

The Mechanical Interruption Summary related to this Defect.

A/C Type / Series

The Aircraft Type and Series/Fleet assignment.

Ref Seq Num

The reference sequence number of this Defect.

Dispatch System Control No.

This number is generated by the system and represents that the defect has been sent to SABRE for those customers with this interface.

Unlock Defect but_unlock_small button

Selecting the Unlock Defect but_unlock_small button allows the user to access and update the Defect Report in the event that the Defect Report record has been locked in error.

Note: The appearance of the button will not change after it is selected to indicate that it has been unlocked.

Seat Number

The passenger seat number on the aircraft.

Seat Letter

The passenger seat letter on the aircraft.

Seat Severity

The Seat Severity Code used to indicate the level of severity (i.e damage) of the seat. This can be selected from the list of Seat Severity Transaction Codes via the Technical Records System Transaction Codes.

Status

The current Status of the Defect Report log item.

Defect Type

The type of defect found on the aircraft (for example, Pilot Report, MX Report).

Defect

The defect number (or log book number).

Item

The defect log item number.

A/C

The individual aircraft tail number.

CHP

The ATA Chapter classification associated to the Defect Report. The chapters which appear for selection are those ATA Chapters which are flagged for Defect in the ATA Master. This Chapter/Section must have Alert levels set up in order for Recurrent Items to be created via the Reliability module.

SEC

The specific Section of the ATA Chapter associated to the Defect Report. The Sections which appear for selection are those ATA Chapters which are flagged for Defect in the ATA Master. This Chapter/Section must have Alert levels set up in order for Recurrent Items to be created via the Reliability module.

Defer Due Date eMRO_V5_gold

The Due Date is calculated based on the Defer Schedule information and the systems configuration. In order to receive the correct Due Date, the Aircraft Mean Times must be entered in the A/C Schedule Flight or A/C Flight Schedule Flight Daily in the Planning Module. 

Defect Description

The description of the defect which describes the problem found or notes the service being performed.

General

Flight

The inbound flight number associated with the Defect Report.

Delay

The Delay Code (i.e. Equipment Failure, Scheduled Ground Time).

Station

The Station where the Defect was reported.

I.F.S.D

The Engine In-Flight Shut Down code (i.e. Foreign Object Debris, Lightning Strike). These codes can be set up via the Technical Records Transaction Codes. Go to Settings/ Explorer/ System Transaction Code/ Technical Records.

Flight Phase

The Phase of the flight on which the Defect occurred.

Hours/Cycles/Days

The number of flight hours/cycles/days in which the deferment must be resolved from the beginning of the Report or Defer Date based on system configuration.

Defer Due Date

The date and time the deferment must be resolved by.

Time

The scheduled time that the deferment must be resolved by.

W/O

The Work Order used to categorize, manage, and schedule work requirements for aircraft maintenance.

The Export as Excel button can be selected to view the queried data (including all pages) in an Excel spreadsheet. This Excel file can be saved for later use. For more information refer to the Export as Excel Button via the eMRO System Standards manual.

The Columns columns actual button button is used to select which columns will appear in the the window's search results/table section. For more information, refer to Columns Button via the eMRO System Standards manual.

The Filter/Sort filter sort button button is used to alter the search criteria for records associated with the host module and window. For more information, refer to Filter/Sort Button via the eMRO System Standards Module.

Click the Select button to view the Defect Report Detail for the selected record.
