Creating Defect Reports for Reliability

Defect Reports must be created in order for A/C Reliability Alerts to be triggered, but they must be configured with the following specifications.

Recurrent Items will be triggered based on the ATA Chapter/Section specified in the Defect Report Detail, General Tab. But, along with the Recurrent Defect checkbox in the Defect Type transaction code, the Reliability checkbox must also be selected in order for Recurrent Items to be triggered.

The following information must be entered in order to track Reliability:

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Chap

The ATA Chapter classification associated to the Defect Report. The chapters which appear for selection are those ATA Chapters which are flagged for Defect in the ATA Master. This Chapter/Section must have Alert levels set up in order for Recurrent Items to be created via the Reliability module. For more information, refer to the ATA Master via the Settings Training manual and Setting Up ATA Chapters and Sections via the Reliability Training Manual.

Sec

The specific Section of the ATA Chapter associated to the Defect Report. The Sections which appear for selection are those ATA Chapters which are flagged for Defect in the ATA Master. For more information, refer to the ATA Master via the Settings Training manual and Setting Up ATA Chapters and Sections via the Reliability Training Manual.

  • DEFSCMAN - (Defect Report Make Section (field) Mandatory) If set to Yes, makes the ATA section mandatory when entering new Defect Reports.

This Chapter/Section must have Alert levels set up in order for Recurrent Items to be created via the Reliability module.

Reliability checkbox

This checkbox helps trigger the Defect Report Reliability process. The checkbox must be selected in order for Recurrent Alert Items to be created when the Defect Report's Chapter/Section reaches a predefined alert schedule. For more information refer to Recurrent Items via the Reliability Training Manual.

Note: Switch RELIACHB affects when this checkbox is available. When set to Yes, the Reliability checkbox is available in the Defect Report Detail, General tab for all Defect Reports. When set to No, the Reliability checkbox will only be available in the Defect Report Detail, General tab if the Pilot Report Property checkbox is selected via the Defect Type Transaction Code. For more information refer to Switch RELIACHB via the Technical Records Switches Manual.

Note: The Recurrent Defect checkbox located within the Defect Type transaction code entered for the Defect Report must also be selected in order for Recurrent Alert Items to be created in the Reliability module. Further, if this checkbox is selected, the defect report item will impact Reliability Reports. If this checkbox is not selected, this defect report item will not appear on the Reliability Reports. For more information refer to the Defect Type tran code via the Technical Records Transaction Code Manual.
