SOS Parts via the Receiving Inspection Option

The part can then be accepted via the Receiving Inspection option. During Receiving Inspection, the user can change the ‘Condition’ associated with the part to a serviceable one. Go to Receiving/Update/Receiving Inspection and enter one or more of the following search criteria.

The system displays the search screen as follows:

 

The following information/options are available in this window:

Location

The Location for maintenance events, inventory stores, orders, transactions, or training events.

Batch

The inventory number that is currently associated with a part or group of parts. A part's Batch number can change after various types of transactions take place.

Goods RCVD Batch

The original inventory number assigned to the part or group of parts when initially introduced/received into inventory. This number will remain the same for a part even if/when the part's Batch number changes.

P/N

The Part Number reference for the aircraft part.

S/N

The Serial Number for the specific serialized part.

Note: Notice that the part is flagged with the SOS Time (field is highlighted in red) information. The 'Part out of SOS Scope' message indicates that the indicated SOS Time for the part has been served. This SOS Scope Time is inserted into the Config Number field of Inventory Switch SOSCTLHR. For more information refer to Switch SOSCTLHR via the Inventory Switches Manual.

Select the Find button.

Choose the correct record. Click on the Select button to view the relevant information. The system displays the following screen:

The part can now be accepted with a serviceable ‘Condition’ and non-quarantine ‘Location’.
