ROS Classification Code, via Repair Order Detail, Control Tab

The ROS Classification Code is used to specify the ROS message type that will be sent from the system to the Vendor. The allows the user to determine what RO Control (P/N E/C or P/N Control) will or will not be sent to the vendor from the Repair Order window. Life Limited Parts will default the control to M when the control reaches and/or exceeds its Warning Percentage level.

The following information/options are available in this window:

ROS Classification Code

The ROS Classification Code. The ROS Classification Codes can be set up via Settings/ Explorer/ System Transaction Codes/ Engineering/ E/C Mandatory Classification. For additional information, refer to the E/C Mandatory Classification Code via the Engineering Transaction Code Manual.

M (Mandatory) - When the Classification Code is 'M', whether the RO Control checkbox is selected or deselected, the user may not edit this Code.

O (Optional) - When the Classification Code 'O' is selected, the user may change the code from the drop down menu. If the user deselects the RO Control checkbox, the ROS Classification Code becomes null or blank.

D (Improvements) - When the Classification Code 'D' is selected, the user may change the code from the drop down menu. If the user deselects the RO Control checkbox, the ROS Classification Code becomes null or blank.

R (Recommended) - When the Classification Code 'R' is selected, the user may change the code from the drop down menu. If the user deselects the RO Control checkbox, the ROS Classification Code becomes null or blank.

R/O Control checkbox

Select the RO Control checkbox if you require this control to be reset by the Repair Order or if the part is received either at Order Receiving or Receiving Inspection. The ROS Classification Codes work in conjunction with the RO Control checkbox. There are three different status' of this checkbox.

RO Control ORDERS_RO_cap_cb1 checkbox - When this checkbox is selected, the Classification for that RO Control will default to 'M.'

RO Control ORDERS_RO_cap_cb4 checkbox - When this checkbox is partially selected (greyed out), the Classification for that RO Control is dependant on whether it is a P/N Control or a P/N E/C.

P/N Control - The system will send the Classification Code 'O,' unless the Warning Percentage has been reached.

P/N E/C - The system will look at the Classification Code specified in the E/C Mandatory Classification Transaction Code. If this field is null (blank), the Classification Code will default to 'O.'

RO Control ORDERS_RO_cap_cb2 checkbox - When this checkbox is deselected, the system will not send a Classification Code for any Control.

The following are examples of how the ROS message should look depending on the status of the RO Control checkbox:

RO Control Checkbox Selected:

In the following example, the RO Control checkbox is selected, and the ROS Classification Code is defaulted to 'M'. Select the ROS but_ros_small button.

The ROS Message List window is displayed. Select the ROS_ORDER_MASK message type.

The 'M' ROS Classification Code appears in the ROS Message as shown below:

 

RO Control Checkbox Deselected:

The RO Control checkbox for the following P/N Control is deselected. Select the ROS but_ros_small button.

The ROS Message List window is displayed. Select the ROS_ORDER_MASK message type.

The 'OVERHAUL' Control does not appear in the ROS Messages and will not be sent to the Vendor.
