Capability Area

The System Transaction Codes are displayed with both the Code Names and Descriptions. The Code Descriptions directly illustrate their functionality and role in the system, as fields are populated and tasks are performed.

Functions:	To define the capability areas for the planning module (e.g. capacity planning)

Available Functionality:

The capability area allows the customer to identify specific areas where maintenance tasks can be accomplished (i.e. hangar ABC can only perform line maintenance work, while hangar XYZ can perform line and heavy maintenance). The codes are used for capacity planning, maintenance planning, and other planning functionalities.

The capability area can be assigned for E/Cs, P/N Controls, and Defect Reports. A maintenance task with any Capability Area can be scheduled on Work Orders at Sites that have their Capability Area set to 'ALL'.

The capability area is assigned to a location's site in Settings/ Update/ Location/ Site button/ Site Configuration button.

The capability area transaction code is used for different maintenance events:

Note: When Switch DFCAPAREA is set to Yes, the capability area entered in the Config Other field is automatically populated in new E/Cs, P/N Controls, and Defect Reports. When set to No, the capability area will default to ALL regardless of anything entered in the Config Other field.
