Value Base On Life Limit Checkbox, via Condition

The Value Base On Life Limit checkbox functions by selecting a P/N Control which will re-evaluate the value of a life limited part once the part is returned into inventory.

This functionality will calculate for parts that have a designated 'Life Limit Control' and have entered the system through the following transactions:

  • Return To Stock
  • Rental Order Receiving
  • Repair Order Receiving
  • Exchange Order Out Receiving

The following 'MOD' Condition Transaction Code has the Value Base On Life Limit checkbox selected. Once selected, the P/N Control field appears. 'DISCARD' is the selected P/N Control.

The following is an example of the Value Based on Life Limit functionality for an Exchange Order Out.

Notice that P/N '100F300' S/N '020' has the following P/N Inventory Controls.

The Local F/A Amount for P/N S/N '020' is $2,000.00.

The Local Actual Unit Cost for P/N S/N '020' is 2,000.00.

Create an Exchange Order Out transaction. The Condition field is set to 'New' for the supplied part.

When receiving the Exchange Order Out transaction, the Condition of the returned part is 'AS-IS.'

The incoming part ('Core P/N') will replace and revalue the asset of the part being sent out ('Supplied P/N').

The PN Control window is displayed and the Actuals Hours have been overridden to display the value of '1500,' half of the '3000' Schedule Hours life limit.

P/N S/N '200' is issued out.

The Fixed Asset for S/N '020' is displayed below.

The Fixed Asset amount displays the new calculated value of 1,000.00.

1500: represents the remaining hours of the OH control

3000: represents the schedule hours of OH control

2000: represents the Local Actual Unit Cost
