Mandatory Property Checkbox, via E/C Mandatory ClassificationThe Mandatory Property checkbox is available in order to assign the same hard-coded functionality of the Mandatory classification to other classifications. When selected, this checkbox makes any E/C Classification mandatory. E/Cs with Classifications that have the Mandatory Property checkbox selected will trigger Mandatory flags when they are queried in Planning. Alerts will also appear when completing different transactions. E/C Classifications has a much different functionality for Aircraft Engineering Controls versus Part Number Engineering Controls. In earlier versions, "Mandatory" was used to define the requirement for compliance. For an Aircraft Engineering Control its shows red in planning, however for P/N E/Cs it actually forces compliance at the next Vendor or Shop Repair Order process. If an AD or critical modification on the component needs to be done, it has an interval or schedule. The classification "Mandatory" should NOT be used because you have time to do it. Mandatory should only be used for P/N E/Cs that require compliance at the next Repair visit with no schedules, however, customers can create separate E/C Classification codes for A/C E/Cs versus P/N E/Cs. |
